I can’t say enough good things about Coach Mary and M’Powered. Coach Mary provides kindness, encouragement and a challenging workout based on where you are with your health journey. I appreciate that Mary looks out for our form and safety first while nudging us when needed, to take on a little more here and there. Mary’s positive energy fuels us for a motivating workout! M’Powered offers a truly supportive and uplifting experience with a warm community of great women. I felt welcomed on day one! I love the laughs and warm connections. My last 15 months have been transformative mentally and physically. Joining M’Powered has been a great journey to a healthier me.

Joining M’powered has been life changing. I have been inspired by so many women in the last three years. I’ve seen women of all ages be bad asses and lift weights to stay strong and be healthy. I’ve gained friends with different backgrounds and different body types who show up and are healthy in their own journey. I’ve always loved working out, but I was challenged in nutrition to keep muscle and stay strong. At M’powered we talk a lot about how to feed the body with proper nutrition while our body is getting stronger.
When I came to M’powered, I gained a whole package of a better mind, body and soul. Sisterhood really matters because as women, we better understand our anatomy and the hormones that come as life progresses…and Coach Mary brings the light out in everyone so they can be their best self. I had been trying to workout at home with not much success. I missed feeling healthy, energized and strong. I missed feeling good sore vs stiff & painful sore. I missed the camaraderie of group workouts. I missed having a set routine that I could commit to. I had noticed a shift in my mood, my food choices, and the way my clothes were fitting. I needed to start moving again. Thank goodness for Mary! She has so much energy, is incredibly skilled as a trainer & has an uncanny ability to read what the group needs on any particular day. The classes are challenging, fun and never the same, which keeps me motivated and gives me something to look forward to. She has created a wonderfully supportive community of women all striving for the same goal. To feel empowered! The workouts were exactly what I needed to set me on the right path to feeling good again.

Working out with Mary as your coach is not just about working out. There is a welcome in the group that warms you and gets under your skin, before too long Mary’s workouts are part of your routine, and you miss it when life gets in the way. I began working out with the ‘8.45’ ladies regularly, I had always been pretty active but had not really done the kind of functional workouts that Mary did, some of which included heavier weights and box jumping. I was 56, and to be honest, I was not very good at prioritizing myself. I found this group at the perfect time; my family were all gaining independence and I had time for ‘me’ outside of work. It gave me renewed energy, drive, perspective, and some great laughs. My blood pressure came down, which was fantastic, and I felt strong and more confident in my abilities. The regularizing effect of showing up for yourself cannot be underestimated. Holding yourself accountable is not always the easiest thing to do, but when you want to be somewhere, it really helps to make it happen. Also, what a great example it is to those around you too, it’s so infectious. Now at nearly 59, I have moved far away, and value it all the more. The habits I formed have remained, as have the lasting friendships I formed there. Looking for something similar here reveals how very special Mary’s coaching style is. There is nothing quite like it. I do some great classes and enjoy staying fit, which is a great outcome really and something Mary was keen I found, which demonstrates her serious passion for women’s health. Her workouts are not easy, but they helped me to focus and prepare for some of life’s challenges. One day can feel very different to the next, depending on what is going on, and I firmly believe every woman in that group was touched and supported by the camaraderie of the group motivated by Mary. When I started with Mary’s gym …years ago. I was miserable, overweight, out of shape, at my highest weight ever. I couldn’t walk more than a few feet at a time. I was desperate to feel better and at the point I was willing to try anything. I wanted a gym to join but also didn’t feel confident enough to be around skinny in shape women or go to a gym where there were lots of people, I didn’t want to be judged. At Mary’s four walls she emphasized that there was no judging, no talking behind anyone’s back. It’s always been a safe place. Mary welcomed me. We started slow; she modified every exercise( i was willing to try) so I could do them. Wall planks, wall pushups etc. I was very pleased at how soon I started to feel better. I could move more freely. I dropped sizes before I lost pounds.

Mary has been a part of my fitness journey for the last 10 years. She takes the time to understand your concerns and will work with you to accomplish your goals. In addition, we have a wonderful and supportive community of women of all ages and skill levels. Sharon Gin I have been with Mary for five years and am extremely satisfied with where I’m at right now. Mary has helped me strengthen and tone my body and increase my bone mass. She has encouraged me to continue my fitness goals and has helped me to successfully reach them. She has nutritionally helped me as well, guiding me to make healthy choices. Mary has created a safe and comfortable space for women to train. I love going to my workouts. Why, because I get a great sweat on and I have fun doing it. Each time I step into the gym Mary is ready for us and she brings her unique energy. There’s always a warmup and a kick ass workout. It’s never the same, so you can always look forward to something different. There are a variety of different weights like dumbbells, kettlebells and plates in the weight room. She instructs us how to safely use them to avoid injuries and is always watching us to make corrections if we need them. She also assesses us as a class and knows what we need. Mary will create workouts according to what we are bringing to class. And if we need some time to meditate or talk at the end of class, she will do that too. Mary is here for us and she’s the best.

I met Mary, who I shared my story of partial paralysis and the limitations I have with my body.
