My Story
“THESE NEW M’POWERED WALLS ARE LITERALLY BUILT ON LOVE, COMPASSION, CONNECTION, CARE, AND A WILL TO SERVE EACH OTHER. I have always believed in HEALTH, which meant staying close to nutrition and fitness combined. I wanted to escape my family’s unhealthy demise. All of my direct family have died of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and drug & alcohol addiction. I wanted to change the course of that for my children and their children. I was determined to live a better, healthier lifestyle. In my later 20’s, I embarked on being a figure competitor, and I loved the discipline that came with it! I also kept it clean so my body could thrive without the use of drugs during that time. I learned that with discipline I could do anything, and I wanted to share this with every woman I could. Fast forward a few years, and I decided to leave my career and become an all women’s fitness gym owner. Kaia Fit Walnut Creek was a true love for me. Over 7 years, we created a TRIBE of women that would change the course of my life forever. We worked out, laughed, cried, celebrated weddings, welcomed babies, went through divorces, faced health challenges, watched our children graduate college, sent our children off to college, asked each other for advice in raising children (especially teens), and grieved together in losing special people in our lives. All of this created the most powerful and special place in our community until 2020, when COVID forced us to close our doors. THIS DEVASTATED OUR ENTIRE COMMUNITY. It was a loss we would all feel for years to come. In September 2020, I was working out in my garage with my husband, and I had this feeling that God was telling me to get back to coaching, that WE needed it. So, with my husband and the help of some friends, we converted our garage into a professional gym space to share with about 25 ladies (we couldn’t fit any more). Over the next 3 years, we became M’Powered Fitness. Then, in February 2024, I received some terrible news that we were losing our house of 14 years (the owners decided to sell), but I had 60 days to move, which meant I would have to shut down my little gym AGAIN! All 25 of these ladies decided they didn’t want to lose our safe place our GYM again, so they decided to do a couple of fundraisers to raise enough money to reopen a larger gym. And THIS THEY DID in 7 WEEKS!!! We raised the money with the help of our friends, family, and community to open our new 4 walls. You can literally say third time’s the charm! These new M’Powered walls are literally built on LOVE, compassion, connection, care, and a will to serve each other. We’re not just a gym; we are a family of sisters that would love to share our health, fitness, and life experiences with you. Join us. Your first class is always free for you to experience for yourself.”
